The 1938 Yankees season was their 36th season. The team finished with a record of 99-53, winning their 10th pennant, finishing 9.5 games ahead of the Boston Red Sox. New York was managed by Joe McCarthy. The Yankees played their home games at Yankee Stadium. In the 1938 World Series, they beat the Chicago Cubs in 4 games. This marked the first time any team had won three consecutive World Series. This original oil painting portrays a few of the great 1938 New York Yankees, including Lou Gehrig and Joe DiMaggio, by well-known sports artist, Ben Teeter. This beautiful painting is hand signed by the artist and dated 2007 on the lower left of the painting. The dimensions of the painting are 11" X 14" unframed. This special one of a kind painting is in excellent condition. A serially numbered, destructible eggshell tamper-proof seal is affixed to the painting and it is accompanied by a tamper-proof, forge-proof, copy-proof Certificate of Authenticity from Elaine's Fine Art. The Certificate of Authenticity from Elaine's also has a matching serially numbered seal affixed to it. Any tampering with the seals causes the seal to fragment, making it impossible to reuse, further insuring the Authenticity of the item.
