This one of a kind beautifully matted and framed Original Painting of Oakland Raider "Fred Biletnikoff" by renowned Sports Artist, B. Teeter, is autographed by Fred Biletnikoff with Special Inscriptions - HOF 88 and SB XI MVP . The painting is also hand signed by the artist. The medium of the painting is Acrylic On Illustration Board. The framed dimensions of this magnificent painting are 19" X 23". The painting is in excellent condition.
A serially numbered, destructible eggshell tamper-proof seal is affixed to the painting and it is accompanied by a tamper-proof, forge-proof, copy-proof Certificate of Authenticity from Elaine's Fine Art. The COA also has a matching serially numbered seal affixed to it. Any tampering with the seals causes the seal to fragment making it impossible to reuse, further insuring the authenticity of the item.
Fred Biletnikoff was an iconic player for the Oakland Raiders. After being drafted by the Raiders in 1965, he spent his entire NFL career as a Raider. Biletnikoff's career total of 589 receptions may appear modest by today's standards, but it is remarkable considering the more run-oriented offenses in the 60s and 70s, and that the regular season in those years was only 12 or later, 14 games long.
At the time of his retirement, Fred not only dominated the Raiders' record book for pass receiving but he owned several significant NFL marks as well. Along with another Hall of Fame receiver, Raymond Berry, Fred held the record for having caught 40 or more passes in 10 consecutive seasons. His 70 receptions, 1,167 yards receiving and 10 touchdowns in 19 post-season games were also NFL post-season career records. Biletnikoff reached the zenith of a career filled with outstanding achievements when he caught four passes for 79 yards to set up three Oakland scores in the Raiders’ 32-14 victory in Super Bowl XI. He was named the game's Most Valuable Player. Biletnikoff was elected to The Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1988.
