Description: Sammy Sosa 1989 Texas Rangers road gray game used jersey features "TEXAS" on the front and his rookie number "17" on front and back sewn in blue-on-white tackle twill. The lower left front tail of the jersey features a "Rawlings" size 42 manufacturer's tag and "Set 1 1989" flag tag and "T" representing the custom tapering. The jersey exhibits quality overall evidence of game use with noticeable puckering to the numbers and letters. There is a name change evident on the shoulders as this jersey was worn by Fred Martinique following Sosa's trade to the White Sox for Harold Baines. When Sosa proved to be the superstar that he is, the jersey was restored to its original state, and done so expertly that you really have to work to spot the shadows of the other name that once took up residence across the shoulders.
