This lot features a Roger Maris and Mickey Mantle autographed and inscribed New York Yankees framed display measuring 22x27" and features two classic 8x10 images of the "M&M" boys. Roger personally signed and inscribed his photograph "Best Always- Roger Maris". The signature is an amazing condition and would grade NM-MT. The Mantle photograph has a long inscription which reads "My Biggest Thrill was Mickey Mantle Day. Best Wishes Mickey Mantle". We have never seen this inscription before making this one of the rarest pieces we have handled. Mantle and Maris will forever be intertwined because of their '61 in '61 Home Run chase back in 1961 when it looked like both Yankee legends were actually going to be eclipsing Babe Ruth's 60 HR mark before Mantle went down with an injury. Each photo comes with a full Beckett Letter of Authenticity. Originated from the collection of a retired NYC police officer who was able to acquire signatures in person due to his close ties with ball players.
