This lot features an exceedingly rare Rod Carew 1968 Topps Test Disc Card. Presented is one of the more alluring and rare cards of Hall of Famer and 3,000 Hit Club member Rod Carew that we have ever had the pleasure of offering. The offered 1968 Topps Test Disc of Rod Carew stands at the very top of the list of rare Carew items and enjoys a near mythical status among die hard cardboard fanatics. Issued during Topps heyday of test issues comes this wonderful collectible that shares its cult like status with the likes of the 1961 Topps Dice Game release as well as the rare 1968 Topps Plaks issue. Topps seemingly experimented with test products all throughout the 1960's in an attempt to appeal to new collectors and was never seemingly satisfied with the test issues as they never went to final production. What these test issues did was create an array of exceedingly difficult items which command the attention of most devout cardboard collectors. There is a crease across the top of this card but don't allow that to detract you from the fact that you may never see one of these again. This style crease seems common among the few other rare examples that can be found of ANY player, let alone one of Carew's caliber.
