This lot features a Robin Yount 1987 Milwaukee Brewers home white pullover pinstripe jersey. Yount was inducted into baseball's Hall of Fame in 1999 and is also a member of baseball's elite 3,000 Hit Club. The jersey exhibits excellent overall use throughout. The size 40 jersey has the Rawlings manufacturers/size tag and "Set 1 1987" flap tag sewn inside the lower left front tail as well as a "87 YOUNT" swatch sewn in under the Rawlings tag. The jersey also has "Rawlings" in script sewn on to a swatch on the sleeve. The jersey is all original and unaltered and has "BREWERS" script on the front as well as "19" numerals sewn on back. Yount is widely considered to be one of the best overall shortstops of All Time bringing a great offensive game to go along with his excellent glove. He won the AL MVP Award in 1982 & 1989 as well as the Gold Glove and Silver Slugger Awards in 1982. Yount started the string of 2 way shortstops in 1975 with Cal Ripken Jr. arriving to the big leagues 7 years after Yount. The 1987 season was another excellent year for Yount as he hit 21 HR's, 103 RBI and a .312 BA at a time when shortstops were only known for their gloves. Nice, highly desirable jersey of one of the greatest shortstops to ever play the game.
