This lot features a rare celebration statue made for Hank Aaron himself after he broke Babe Ruth's all time record of 714 HR's. This collectible treasure was commissioned by the Aaron family and presented to members of the Braves organization, as well as others close to the Aarons as a sort of "thank you" for the support given during the home run chase. The statue is made out of solid composite material in gun-metal grey. Created by Continental Distributing, it stands 15 inches high with the base measuring 7.5 inches across. Due to the significance of the milestone and its origin, few of these rare statues have ever found their way into the hands of collectors. Nice, rare tribute to Hammerin' Hank.
