This equipment bag was used by Olympian Phil Verchota back in 1980 when Team USA shocked the world by defeating the seemingly invincible Soviet Union before going on to win the gold medal. This bag is also incredibly signed by all of the living members from the historic team, totaling 19 signatures in all. Signatures include: Mike Eruzione, Jim Craig, Steve Christoff, Neal Broten, Dave Silk, Mark Johnson, Phil Verchota, William "Buzz" Schneider, Mike Ramsey, Eric Strobel, Dave Christian, John Harrington, Jack O'Callahan, Bill Baker, Ken Morrow, Mark Wells, Rob McClanahan, Craig Patrick, and Steve Janaszak. Also written on the bag are the scores of every game during the team's improbable run to the gold medal. The equipment bag exhibits significant use. The bag was originally acquired by Jimmy Steichen as he worked for Team USA at the time. Accompanied by a Letter of Provenance from Steichen confirming the authenticity and sourcing of the equipment bag itself. The 19 members of Team USA signed the bag in the presence of a VSA Auction representative.
