This lot features Ozzie Smith's 1982 All-Star Game ring. The 1982 event marked the first time that the MLB All-Star Game did not take place on American soil. The 1982 game was played in Montreal, with the National League taking home the victory led by MVP Dave Concepción. The ring has a raised silver maple leaf centered over the tableau with inserted zirconia, with “Partie” above and “D’etoiles” below. The left shank has the Montreal All-Star logo with “1982” above in raised numerals, with a full-color enamel MLB logo with laurel wreath below and “O. SMITH” above on the right. The inner band is stamped "Balfour" and "celestrium" along with a hallmark. This ring was initially acquired from Ozzie Smith himself and is a must have treasure for any ring collector. Accompanied by a Letter of Provenance. Measures to a size 8-8.5. Very rare and highly coveted ring.
