This lot features an incredibly rare and coveted Mike Modano 1992-93 game used All-Star Game jersey with impeccable provenance worn during his 1st ever All-Star game. Everything about this jersey is original with no alterations. CCM Airknit size 56 jersey that originates from the Minnesota North Stars equipment manager at the time, Mark Baribeau, who was a close personal friend of Modano's. This jersey was given by Modano to Baribeau and, ultimately to our consignor. All of the players actually identified their All-Star jerseys by signing just over the All-Star patch which Modano has done on this jersey. Modano wore a specific style of Easton glove with a velcro piece which would pill the ends of his sleeve cuffs and this jersey also reflects that very pilling. It is extremely difficult to source 100% legitimate All-Star game worn jerseys because so many were faked which makes this one unique. Adding to the collectability of this historic jersey is the fact that it was Modano's very 1st All-Star Game appearance. Mike would go on to have a Hall of Fame career with 561 career goals and 813 assists for a total of 1,374 points. This jersey is accompanied by a very detailed Letter of Authenticity from game used expert Rich Ellis as well as a letter of provenance tracking the history of this incredible jersey and how it was acquired. Also includes James Spence Auction Authentication for the vintage Modano autograph.
