This lot features (2) 1928 framed Player's Cigarette card set displays. Cigarette cards were issued in Britain between the end of the 19th century and the outbreak of World War II in 1939. During this period, each packet of cigarettes sold contained a card belonging to a particular set, each complete set being made up of either 25 or 50 cards. Today, these sets are still avidly collected throughout Britain and the rest of the world by enthusiasts of the hobby known as Cartophily. Each frame measures 13x25 overall.
