Notable signatures include: Tom Lasorda, Fernando Valenzuela, Steve Garvey, Mike Scioscia, Steve Sax, Davey Lopes, Ron Cey, Dusty Baker, Ken Landreaux, Burt Hooton, Bob Welch, Steve Howe, Tom Niedenfuer and Jerry Reuss among others. The Dodgers defeated their rival Yankees in 6 games to win the 1981 World Series. Fernando Valenzuela won both The Rookie of the Year as well as Cy Young Awards in 1981 with the Dodgers as Fernando Mania began in earnest.
