This lot features a Rod Carew 1973 Minnesota Twins game used jersey exhibiting tremendous overall use. The jersey has "TWINS" across the front of this button down style knit jersey with Carew's "29" on back in red on blue tackle twill. The Wilson size 42 swatch is sewn into the collar and the "73 Set 1" year/set swatch sewn into the lower left front tail. The Twins team logo patch adorns the left sleeve. The jersey was obviously worn for a majority of the season given the excellent use throughout. The 1973 season was a special one for Rodney as he won his 3rd of 7 batting titles while being named to the American League All-Star team. Carew led the entire Major Leagues with a .350 batting average in 1973 while also leading the AL with 203 hits and 11 triples. The 1973 season was one of Carew's best ever as he finished 4th in the MVP balloting. The jersey is all original. Beautiful early career Rod Carew game used jersey.
