Description: Herschel Walker 1983 New Jersey Generals game used USFL rookie jersey exhibiting moderate overall use. The red size L jersey was made by Champion and has the manufacturers tag sewn into the lower left tail. The jersey has Walker's #34 screened on front, back and both sleeves in white-on-blue numbers. "WALKER" is screened on the back. Walker played with the Generals from 1983 to 1985 before joining the Dallas Cowboys in 1986.
Accompanied by a Letter of Authenticity from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema authenticating its use. Miedema concludes: "This is to verify, in my opinion, the game used status of the item cited above, as submitted by VSA. The jersey is made by Champion, and is a size large. All numbers are screened directly to the jersey in white trimmed with blue, while the NOB is screened onto a nameplate in white lettering. While Walker played for the Generals from 1983-85, the jersey is being attributed as from 1983, based on style matches of photos and an earlier version of the Champion label that was not in general use any more at that time. The left sleeve bears the C logo of Champion, first seen in the USFL, and at that point not yet part of the NFL jersey design. The jersey shows moderate wear, mainly in the form of cracking and peeling on the numbers. Therefore, in my opinion, this is a game used 1983-85 New Jersey Generals USFL home jersey of #34 Herschel Walker. Dave Miedema 3/13/2020."
