This lot features a Nelson "Nellie" Fox professional model C12 game used H&B Louisville Slugger dating to the label period encompassing his time with the Chicago White Sox (1961-63) & Houston Colt .45s (1964). The bat measures 34 inches, weighs 31.5 ounces and shows heavy use with ball marks, a cracked handle, a 7" section of missing deadwood on the reverse of the barrel and some discoloration (-2 cumulative). The bat has been assigned a final grade of MEARS A6. (MEARS Authentication Hologram #316279). Nellie Fox was a 15 time All-Star and was inducted into the baseball Hall of Fame in 1997. He played from 1947-1965 and his game used baseball bats remain in high demand.
