This lot features 2 First Day Covers dated August, 1962 and November 21st, 1964 each of which has been signed by Othmar Ammann in black pen. Ammann was a Swiss-American structural engineer whose bridge designs include the George Washington Bridge, Verrazano-Narrows Bridge, and Bayonne Bridge. He also directed the planning and construction of the Lincoln Tunnel. Ammann passed away back in 1965 at the age of 86 making his signature a particularly coveted and difficult one to obtain.
