Extremely RARE, vintage Len Dawson 1966 AFL Championship REAL 10k gold ring. Vintage Jostens “Josten 10K” markings date this ring to being made in 1967 (that’s what makes this ring so rare and valuable). Often times there are “sample” rings that are made decades after the fact and sell for a fraction of "real" rings. This ring remains in mint condition which is especially nice considering it was made in the era and is almost a half century old. This is not Len Dawson’s actual ring that was given to him by the team but rather an “extra” made by the manufacturer for promotional use directly from the original mold in 1967. If Len Dawson’s ring were available, it would likely sell for $100,000++. The fact that this was made in 1967 from the exact same mold and is 10k Gold, makes acquiring this ring a unique opportunity. The CZ center stone is the only thing that differentiates this ring from the one given to Dawson. It could easily be replaced by a jeweler for a nominal fee, making it as nice or nicer than the one given to Dawson, and would be sure to turn the heads of friends, family and fellow collectors. The ring weighs 1.14 ounces and is a size 11.5. The Chiefs defeated the Buffalo Bills 31-7 to win the 1966 AFL Championship and advance to Super Bowl I against the Vince Lombardi led Green Bay Packers. Dawson, inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame in 1987, led the AFL in 1966 with 26 TD’s and a 101.6 passer rating.
