This lot features a Ken Griffey Jr. 1996 Seattle Mariners game used & autographed batting helmet. The helmet exhibits excellent overall use and has been signed by Junior in silver marker. Accompanied by a Beckett Letter of Authenticity for the signature and John Taube/JT Sports Letter of Authenticity for the game use. Taube concludes "American Baseball Cap Company (ABC) Seattle Mariners vented batting helmet size 71/4, displays evidence of excellent game wear. The helmet is constructed of high impact plastic with foam padding for the right ear, back and top of the head and headband. The rear head pad is missing. The helmet features the Mariners “S” logo on the front of the helmet. The back of the helmet features Griffey’s player number ‘24’ stickered to the left of the ABC 3 player logo and a Mariners color themed MLB sticker above it. Griffey has autographed the helmet on top of the bill in silver marker. The date dial within the helmet indicates it was manufactured in December of 1995. We have reviewed images of Griffey, Jr from the 1996 season and can confirm him wearing the same style helmet. We refer to Getty Images #’s 505440328 and 1300348891."
