After finishing the 1991-92 season at an impressive 29-5, the Cincinnati Bearcats were seeded 4th in the Midwest bracket of the NCAA Tournament. Cincinnati, led by Herb Jones, Nick Van Exel & Corie Blount, crushed #13 Delaware in the 1st round 85-47 and went on to play Michigan St. in the round of 32. The Bearcats disposed of the #5 seeded Spartans easily, 77-65. Then, Cincinnati had to take on UTEP in the "Sweet 16", who were coming off a huge upset of #1 ranked Kansas, 66-60. They squeeked by red hot UTEP 69-67 to make it to the "Elite Eight". Cincinnati took on Memphis St. in the "Elite Eight", and destroyed the Tigers, 88-57, to go on to the NCAA "Final Four". The Bearcats nice run came to an end unfortunately losing a close 76-72 game to the great Fab 5 Michigan Wolverines team featuring Chris Webber, Jalen Rose, & Juwan Howard. Herb Jones led the University of Cincinnati in scoring & rebounding in the 1990-91 & 1991-92 seasons averaging roughly 17 points per game with 7 rebounds (Not bad for a guy listed at about 6'-2"). He also led the Bearcats in 3 point shooting during the 91-92 season, knocking down 41%. This rare ring is made by Balfour (Stamped LGB - BGP), and is in Near Mint to Mint condition while sizing to roughly a size 10. Nice addition to any College Ring collection.
