Born in Payette, Idaho in 1936, Killebrew was known for his powerful swing and ability to hit home runs. He was a 13-time All-Star and a six-time American League home run champion. Killebrew also won the AL MVP award in 1969, and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1984. Off the field, Killebrew was a respected member of the community, known for his charitable work and dedication to youth baseball.
