This lot features an absolutely stunning Harmon Killebrew 1969 Minnesota Twins road gray flannel jersey. The Spalding size 44 jersey shows solid consistent wear throughout and is all original with the exception of the restored number three on back and MLB logo on the left sleeve. The "Killebrew" felt swatch is sewn into the collar. The following is chain stitched into the lower left front tail: "Killebrew 3 44 69" referring to Killebrew's jersey number, size and year. Aesthetically appealing flannel with "TWINS" sewn on the front, Killebrew's number "3" sewn on the back, MLB 100 Year anniversary on the left sleeve and the Twins team logo sewn on the right sleeve. The 1969 season was Killebrew's best ever as he won the American League MVP Award while leading the league with 49 HR's and 140 RBI's. Killebrew jerseys are quickly drying up with demand far exceeding supply. Stunning Killebrew flannel from his greatest season ever. The only thing more impressive than this jersey is the literal "Book" of authenticity that goes along with it. Leading vintage baseball uniform authority Dave Grob has performed an extensive examination of this fine jersey and his "Authentication" is provided in the form of a hard cover book.

Dave Grob's examination opinion: "In my opinion, this jersey possesses all of the characteristics you would expect to see in a jersey manufactured in 1969 by Spalding for road use and wear by Harmon Killebrew. All tagging is assessed as being original to the garment at the time of manufacture. Even with the restored rear numeral "3", the jersey can still be objectively attributed to Harmon Killebrew." Grob uses 6 categories to grade jerseys and this one grades at the higher end of that spectrum. His notes regarding overall grade: "This is an extremely significant jersey, as it is from Killebrew's only MVP season where he posted career-high power numbers (49 HR's; 140 RBI)."
