This lot features a Harmon Killebrew 1962 Baseball's Man of the Year trophy presented by the BBWAA, or Baseball Writers' Association of America. Awards like these are a huge honor to players as they reflect the person they are off the field rather than who they are on the field. This trophy is from the year in which Harmon Killebrew led the American League in home runs. It was part of part New York Yankee owner Barry Halper’s collection and was acquired by our consignor from the Halper Southey’s auction in 2000.
