This lot features a highly coveted George Brett c. 1988-89 Kansas City Royals game used and autographed bat. Truly incredible George Brett gamer when you combine the era, the use, the final grade and how it is signed and inscribed by Brett himself. This blonde Louisville Slugger bat exhibits excellent use with many ball and stich marks on the barrel yet, remains uncracked. The handle shows pine tar at the center and lower handle. On the knob is "GB5". The pine tar application and knob markings are perfect for Brett from this era which is rare to find these days! The bat has a rare inscription on the barrel from Brett "Wishing you good health & happiness always" along with his signature. Brett has refused to sign game used bats recently. Brett is a member of the Hall of Fame as well as baseball's elite 3,000 Hit Club. One of the nicer George Brett gamers in the hobby and a "must have" for Brett and/or bat game used bat collectors. Accompanied by a PSA/DNA John Taube Letter of Authenticity grading this treasure a near perfect 9.5.
