This lot features a pair of Floyd Patterson autographed mini boxing gloves. Floyd Patterson was an American professional boxer who competed from 1952 to 1972. He was the first boxer to win the world heavyweight championship twice. Patterson won a gold medal in the middleweight division at the 1952 Olympic Games, and turned professional the same year. He won his first world heavyweight title in 1956 by defeating Archie Moore, and lost the title in 1959 to Ingemar Johansson. However, Patterson regained the title in a rematch with Johansson in 1960, becoming the first boxer to regain the heavyweight championship. Patterson was known for his fast and agile footwork, and his powerful left hook. He retired in 1972 with a record of 55 wins, 8 losses, and 1 draw, with 40 wins coming by way of knockout. (JSA)
