This lot features a Deacon Jones autographed Los Angeles Rams 8x10 photo signed in blue sharpie. Jones was a part of the Fearsome Foursome with the Rams and was known for his ability to terrorize opposing quarterbacks. (PSA/DNA) Deacon Jones, born David D. Jones, was an American professional football player who is considered one of the greatest defensive ends in NFL history. He was born in 1938 in Florida and played college football at South Carolina State University. Jones was drafted by the Los Angeles Rams in 1961 and spent most of his career with the team. He was known for his incredible speed, strength, and agility, and was credited with coining the term "sack" for tackling the quarterback behind the line of scrimmage. Jones was a fierce competitor and was named to the Pro Bowl eight times during his career. He was also a five-time First-Team All-Pro and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1980. Jones passed away in 2013 at the age of 74, leaving behind a legacy as one of the greatest players to ever play the game.
