Offered here is a truly unique vintage card. Many believe this W600 Sporting Life Cabinet card to be the true Christy Mathewson rookie Card. PSA has professionally graded this card Authentic (altered/restored). It appears that there is either a watermark on the card, glue residue, or some cardboard restoration, more easily seen on the back of the card. These alterations in no way take away from the picture on the front, or the sheer scarcity of this card. The only known SGC graded versions was a 2 that sold in April of 2011 for $5,000 while PSA has only graded a total of 3. A PSA Authentic grade was recently auctioned for $8000. The PSA Population Report lists three known examples: the PSA 5, the recently sold PSA Authentic, and this gem.
