Offered here is a truly unique vintage card. Many believe this W600 Sporting Life Cabinet card to be the true Christy Mathewson rookie Card. PSA has professionally graded this card Authentic Altered / Restored. It appears that there is either a watermark on the card, glue residue, or some cardboard restoration, more easily seen on the back of the card. These alterations in no way take away from the picture on the front, or the sheer rareness of this card. SGC has never graded a card of this type and PSA has only one graded higher, a PSA EX 5. A PSA Authentic grade was recently auctioned for $8000. The PSA Population Report lists three known examples: the PSA 5, the recently sold PSA Authentic, and this gem.
