This lot features a Candlestick Park final game ticket & towel. Candlestick Park was a stadium located in San Francisco, California, that served as the home of the San Francisco Giants baseball team from 1960 to 1999 and the San Francisco 49ers football team from 1971 to 2013. The stadium was built on a landfill in the Bayview Heights neighborhood and was known for its unpredictable winds and chilly temperatures, which made it a challenging venue for athletes and fans alike. The stadium hosted many historic events, including the Beatles' final concert in 1966 and the 1989 World Series, which was interrupted by the Loma Prieta earthquake. Despite its rich history, the stadium became outdated and expensive to maintain, and the Giants and 49ers eventually moved to newer facilities in 2000 and 2014, respectively. The stadium was demolished in 2015 to make way for a new housing and commercial development project.
