This lot features Bert Blyleven’s 1978 game used Pittsburgh Pirates glove. This Rawlings professional model 1977 labeling period XFG6-P fielder’s glove, displays evidence of excellent use. Substantial wear can be seen in the pocket, face of the web, and throughout the body of the glove. BLY22 appears on the back of the thumb and finger sleeves in black marker. Inscribed on the index and middle finger sleeves are “Think” and “Dummy Stay” a saying Blyleven would say to himself on the mound. Blyleven posted a 14-10 record and recorded 182 strikeouts in his first season with the Pirates. A very rare highly coveted game used glove from a member of the Baseball Hall of Fame. This item will include an LOA from PSA/DNA and a signed letter of provenance from Blyleven as well.
