This lot features Bert Blyleven’s 1st career National League hit game used baseball. On April 30, 1978 playing for the Pittsburgh Pirates Blyleven collected his first hit. The ball was collected and presented after the game to him by his teammate Willie Stargell. Willie wrote the following on the baseball - First horse shit hit in NL a fucking blooper over short off Knepper 4/30/78. A duck fart big deal - BOY ROY TROY JOY - BD

Blyleven collected these baseballs after the game and personally hand wrote everything pictured on the baseball at that specific time. If he pitched a complete game, these are the actual final out baseballs. All other baseballs are game used from the stated game.
