Bert Blyleven 1992 Final Season California Angels Game Used Glove PSA/DNA LOA & Bert Blyleven Signed Letter of Provenance

This lot features a Bert Blyleven 1992 game used California Angels glove from his final MLB season, sourced directly from Bert himself. This Rawlings professional model Pro 2X-BF fielders glove displays evidence of substantial use. Excellent wear can be seen in the pocket, face of the web, and throughout the body of the glove. The index finger sleeve above the "Holdster" is depressed and stained from Blyleven's extended index finger. The tips and back of the fingers display appropriate scuffing. Appearing on the back of the thumb sleeve is 'BLY 28' in black marker. On the back of ring finger sleeve in black pen is '480-336-6182', possibly a phone number. The glove is constructed of Rawlings top grade "Heart of the Hide" tanned steer hide bound with tanned rawhide laces and nylon stitching. The fingers are highlighted with neutral welting. Features include a pro-style 'Basket-Web' and a closed "Fastback" with finger "Holdster", an adjustable wrist strap and a dual laced palm hinge. Manufacturer's labeling includes a white on red Rawlings wrist label to the left of the finger "Holdster", an embroidered logo at the base of the web. Note that the labeling period of this glove from Rawlings is 1991, a year in which Blyleven was injured and missed the season. The glove was used the following season (1992) which ended up being Blyleven’s last in his Hall of Fame career. Accompanied by a detailed Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA (John Taube & Dennis Esken) as well as a signed Letter of Provenance from Bert Blyleven.
