This could very well be the nicest signed copy of "Babe Ruth's Own Book of Baseball" in existence. This hardcover copy of Babe Ruth's Own Book of Baseball has so much going for it. First and foremost is the absolutely breathtaking leather bound outer jacket that this beauty has been preserved in for the last 87 years. Suffice it to say that the Bambino was at the height of his career in 1928, the year G.P. Putnam's & Sons published this 301-page "instruction manual" on the National Pastime. That alone, however, does not make this object stand out. What does is the fact that this particular copy of the hardback is a first edition—a rare survivor that is nearly impossible to find. Furthermore, it carries with it the equally rare and seldom seen dust jacket, an incredible find on the otherwise tightly bound book. This is also an initial printing numbered limited edition (number 433 of 1,000 copies) that has been signed by Babe Ruth himself. Above this printed message, appearing at a slant, is Ruth's impeccably bold, black-ink signature ("9-10"). Needless to say, this may be the only opportunity you will ever have to acquire this book, with this presentation display, in this condition, with flawless dust jacket and this quality of signature. An absolute treasure that will amaze all who are lucky enough to see it.
