This lot features a Babe Ruth c. 1925-27 autographed and game used OAL Ban Johnson baseball signed and inscribed "To Neil Harry Messick From Babe Ruth" in bold, black steel tip fountain pen. Messick was the General Manager of the hotel in which Ruth was living at the time. The ball has been used in a game as evident by the fact that it's been rubbed down with pitcher's mud. Babe Ruth single signed baseballs are in extremely high demand no matter the ball his signature appears on. This Ban Johnson version is, by far, the most coveted because it is from the Babe's greatest era, 1925-1927. Highly desirable Babe Ruth single signed baseball. The fact that it was also used in a game, yet has a MINT signature, makes it much more unique.
