This lot features one of the most compelling and famous images of the great Babe Ruth, taken during his final appearance at Yankee Stadium on June 13th, 1948. The Babe has his back to us and faces the crowd dressed in his #3 Yankee pinstripes about to take his final curtain call. This 8x10 inch first generation photo remains in remarkable condition given its age and is signed on the back in pencil by Pulitzer Prize winning photographer Nat Fein. This truly historic photo is especially nostalgic as The Babe would pass away just two months later. This photo originally sold at auction in December of 2005 and has since been beautifully matted.
