Beautiful example of legendary "Babe" Ruth holding a bird, in this American Caramel E121 card. Presented here is Ruth’s “Holding Bird” image, graded a 5 by PSA which is extraordinary when you consider it is 90 years old. In the early 1920’s, the American Caramel Company produced several black & white sets with real photo images, unlike the many lithographic poses portrayed on many of the early 20th century tobacco and candy cards. The 1922 E121 set included many high end Hall of Famers including three different variations of the immortal Babe Ruth with the included "Holding Bird Image" as well as the "Photo Montage" and "Holding Ball" images. All 3 versions book for $50,000+ in Mint 9 condition. Great, affordable, vintage Babe Ruth card.
