This lot features a Washington Capitals home alternate hockey jersey used by Capitals captain and future Hall of Famer Alexander Ovechkin during one of his best games ever played on October 17th, 2022 against the Vancouver Canucks in D.C. Ovechkin has become the most prolific scorer the game has ever seen having recently passed "The Great One," to become the NHL's All-Time leader in career goals scored. Ovie has 19 seasons of at least 30 goals under his belt and finished the 2022-23 season with 42 goals and 75 points in 73 games. During this 6-4 win over the Canucks, Alex The Great scored career goals #781 and #782 while adding 2 more assists for a total of 4 points on the day. This day was truly special since these 2 goals allowed Ovechkin to pass Brett Hull and move into 2nd place All-Time for the most multi-goal games.

The offered jersey features all lettering and numbering in tackle twill. A captain's "C" patch sits on the jersey's upper left chest, and the base of the jersey's collar contains an NHL Shield patch. An Adidas manufacturer's label is affixed to the inside back of the jersey's collar and indicates the jersey size as a size "60" by USA, European, and Canadian standards. Attached to the inside back of the jersey's tail is the customary fight strap present in all hockey jerseys. Two additional fight straps are attached to the interior of the jersey. A MeiGray "NHL Game Worn Jersey 2022-2023 Season" patch is embroidered on the jersey. The jersey exhibits quality overall use and is accompanied by a Washington Capitals/MeiGray Letter of Authenticity.
