This lot features a Waite Hoyt autographed hand-written letter. (CAS) Waite Hoyt was a professional baseball player who played as a pitcher in the Major Leagues from 1918 to 1938. Hoyt played for multiple teams during his career, including the New York Yankees, the Detroit Tigers, and the Philadelphia Athletics. He was known for his accuracy and control as a pitcher, and he won over 20 games in five different seasons. Hoyt was a part of six World Series championship teams during his career, five with the Yankees and one with the Athletics. After retiring from playing, he became a broadcaster for the Cincinnati Reds and worked as a radio announcer for many years. In 1969, Hoyt was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame.
