This lot features a vintage 1961 Topps baseball card set with 551 of a possible 598 cards (92% complete). This set remains in nice condition given its 62-year-old age. The only key Hall of Famer missing is the Mickey Mantle card #300. The set features the Hall of Fame rookie cards for Juan Marichal, Billy Williams and Ron Santo, 1961 Topps Baseball is further enhanced by a deep checklist and variety of subsets. Once again, veteran stars lead the way in terms of value. The 1961 Topps Baseball set represents yet another record-setting expansion for Topps. This was due in large part to the two new teams which were added to the American League for the 1961 season as well as multiple subsets. It is loaded with many stars and Hall of Famers including Roberto Clemente, Hank Aaron, Willie Mays and Sandy Koufax among many others.
