This lot features a Rawlings size 40 home white Tony Pena 1981 Pittsburgh Pirates jersey. The Rawlings size 40 swatch is sewn into the collar and the "6 81" swatch representing Pena's #6 and the year is sewn into the lower left front tail. The jersey is all original with no alterations and exhibits solid use with well faded numerals and lettering on the front and back. Pena was a 5 time All Star and 4 time Gold Glove winning catcher during his productive 18 year career. He was a fan favorite everywhere he played with his unique leg crouch behind home plate. Pena finished 6th overall in the Rookie of the Year balloting in 1981 with the Pirates batting .300. Rare, sought after Pirates rookie jersey.
