This lot features a Scott Erickson game used & autographed baseball from his no-hitter as well as an autographed ticket from the game. Additional writing on the baseball reads "No Hitter 4-27-94" & "vs Milwaukee Brewers Metrodome 40-50". Accompanied by a PSA/DNA Auction Letter of Authenticity. Scott Erickson's no-hitter on April 27, 1994, remains one of the most memorable moments in Minnesota Twins history. The young right-hander was dominant from the start, striking out eight Milwaukee Brewers batters and allowing just three walks in a complete game shutout. Erickson's performance was made even more impressive by the fact that it came just one day after the death of Twins legend Kirby Puckett, who had suffered a career-ending eye injury earlier in the season. Erickson dedicated the no-hitter to Puckett, and the emotional victory helped lift the spirits of Twins fans in the wake of the tragedy. Erickson's no-hitter was the first by a Twins pitcher since 1967, and helped establish him as a key member of the team's rotation for years to come. The game remains a highlight of Twins history, and a testament to Erickson's skill and perseverance on the mound.
