This lot features (1) Rizzuto signed Yankees player photo w/ Joe DiMaggio and (1) Rizzuto signed Yankees broadcasting photo. A popular figure on a Yankees dynasty team that captured 10 AL titles and 7 World Championships over his 13 seasons, Rizzuto was a league MVP in 1950 and still holds numerous World Series records for shortstops. When he retired in 1956, his 1,217 career double plays ranked 2nd in MLB history, trailing only Luke Appling's total of 1,424 and his .968 career fielding average trailed only Lou Boudreau's mark of .973 among AL shortstops. After his playing career, Rizzuto then enjoyed a 40-year career as a radio and television sports announcer for the Yankees retiring after calling Derek Jeter's final season in 1996.
