This lot features the immensely popular 1962 Topps Mars Attacks card set. This set is one of the nicest in the hobby as it currently ranks #34 on the PSA Set Registry. Easily one of the hobby's most popular nonsports issues, the 1962 Topps "Mars Attacks" set capitalized on the era's fascination with - and fear of - space exploration. Simultaneously some of the hobby's most colorful and violent art, the card fronts illustrated the horrifying results of a Martian invasion, while the reverse - in series - told the story of Earth's eventual destruction of the invaders. The set remains immensely popular today, with tremendous competition among high-grade collectors driving up prices across the board.
Presented here is a very attractive complete set, each boasting clean, colorful artwork but a variety of issues related to corners and centering keeping the technical grades closer to the middle of the spectrum. A total of 47 of the 55 cards in the set have been graded by PSA. Great investment opportunity to buy this set and upgrade the 8 ungraded cards.
