He won the 2008 Daytona 500 and finished as the Cup Series runner-up in 2014. Newman accumulated 18 career Cup Series wins, 51 pole positions, and finished in the top ten of the final standings 14 times throughout his career. He retired from NASCAR in 2020, with his last race being the Daytona 500, where he was involved in a major crash on the final lap.
