This lot features a Red Kleinow 1910 Mello Mint E105 baseball card that has been professionally authenticated, encapsulated and graded in BVG 3.5 Very Good+ condition. Very nice condition given its 110 year old age. These 1910 Mello Mint cards are ridiculously difficult to find, let alone purchase. The Smith’s Mello-Mint (E105) baseball card set was produced around 1910 and consists of 50 examples of some of the day’s great players from both the American and National Leagues. The backs display the Smith’s Mello-Mint - “The Texas Gum” logo and minor details about the set and company located in Temple Texas. This set is highlighted by Hall of Famer: Ty Cobb, Frank Chance, Eddie Collins, Sam Crawford, Johnny Evers, Hugh Jennings, Christy Matthewson (Mathewson), John McGraw, Joe Tinker, Honus Wagner (Batting or Throwing) and Cy Young. There have only been 278 of these Mello Mint cards ever graded by PSA so the prices keep rising dramatically. The highest grade for a Red Kleinow is a PSA 4 with only 6 of his cards ever graded.
