This lot features a Mike Trout professional model Nike SHA|DO Elite J size 13 inch fielding glove. This glove can be specifically dated to Trout's 2015 season with the Los Angeles Angels. The glove exhibits light evidence of overall use. While we can not say with 100% certainty that Mike Trout used this glove (players typically wear their favorite glove for very lengthy periods of time), the fact that Nike only made 3 of these gloves for Mike Trout makes this an extremely rare and highly coveted collectible. Aesthetically appealing glove in that "Mike Trout" is embroidered into the outside thumb in red lettering. This particular Sha/Do Elite J model is extremely popular and highly coveted by collectors around the world. (The "SHA|DO" name comes from the Japanese words SHA, meaning "gratitude," and DO, meaning "way," meant to convey the Japanese ethos of always playing with a sense of gratitude and pride). There were a limited production run of 27 of these gloves that are also highly coveted by collectors but those had black gloves laces. The 3 that were made for Trout had red laces. Great opportunity to acquire a rarely offered Mike Trout professional model fielding glove. Accompanied by a detailed letter of provenance from minor league player Ryde Rodriguez in which he states that he acquired the glove from his friend Adeiny Hechavarria who had initially acquired the glove from Mike Trout himself. Also accompanied by the original Nike shipping box in which this treasure was delivered to Trout.
