This lot features a beautifully centered 1932 Lefty Grove U.S. Caramel card professionally graded a PSA 6 EX-MT. The 1932 U.S. caramel set was manufactured by a Boston confectioner, producing 32 athletes, 27 of which are baseball players. One of its most popular subjects is legendary Hall of Famer lefthander Robert “Lefty” Grove, offered here in a aesthetically pleasing PSA 6 grade. Grove is considered one of the greatest pitchers that ever lived, winner of 300 games and owner of an incredible 9 E.R.A. titles, still a Major League record. This U.S. Caramel example, in what may be his most obscure issue, portrays a portrait image of Grove, vividly registered and perfectly centered between toned borders. High end example of one of baseball’s 10 greatest pitchers of all-time will enhance any vintage Hall of Fame card collection.
