This lot features an absolutely stunning John Wayne autographed 8x10 black and white photograph. The photo is attractively matted and framed and is ready to display. The Duke was both an actor and filmmaker. He won an Academy Award for True Grit in 1969 and was among the top box office draws for three decades. Before Wayne took to acting he was on a football scholarship with the USC Trojans when a body surfing accident ended his football career prematurely. Wayne's acting career really took off in 1939, with John Ford's Stagecoach making him an instant star. He appeared with many important Hollywood stars of his era, and his last public appearance was at the Academy Awards ceremony on April 9, 1979. The Duke passed away in 1979 and his signature remains one of the most coveted in all of Hollywood. Most of the signatures you will see contain salutations with the name of the person to which he has signed. This treasure is simply signed "Good Luck, John Wayne" with the signature remaining in near perfect condition.
