John Elway 1986 Denver Broncos Super Bowl XXI "A.F.C. Champions" 10K Gold & Diamond Balfour prototype ring. This one-of-a-kind Denver Broncos ring was produced by Balfour in hopes of landing the contract with Denver to produce the AFC Championship Rings for the Broncos. Even though Balfour ended up getting the rights to do the World Series Rings for the N.Y. Mets, runner up Boston Red Sox, N.B.A. Champion Boston Celtics as well as the Stanley Cup Champion Montreal Canadians, Jostens wound up landing the AFC Championship ring for 1986. This game is best remembered for "The Drive" in which John Elway and the Broncos drove 98 yards in 15 plays to tie the game with just 37 seconds left in regulation. Denver kicker Rich Karlis kicked the game winning 33 yard field goal 5:38 into overtime to send the Broncos to Super Bowl XXI. This stunning ring, weighs a hefty 37.7 grams (1.33 oz) of solid 10K Gold, has 14 genuine diamonds mounted on top and has none other than John Elway #7 - QB on the side. It's a size 11 to 11.25 and has the original Balfour markings engraved inside (LGB 10K). This beautiful ring is arguably more attractive than the Jostens version and certainly has the same, if not more, value in gold and diamonds.
