This lot features a Jeff Kent game used & autographed San Francisco Giants batting helmet signed by the 2000 NL MVP in bold, silver marker. (Beckett) Jeff Kent is a retired American baseball player who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) from 1992 to 2008. During his 17-year career, Kent played for six different teams, but he is perhaps best known for his time with the San Francisco Giants from 1997 to 2002. A five-time All-Star and four-time Silver Slugger award winner, Kent was widely regarded as one of the best second basemen in the game during his prime. He was also a key contributor to the Giants' success during the late 1990s and early 2000s, helping the team win the National League pennant in 2002. Despite his success on the field, Kent was known for his prickly personality and contentious relationship with the media. Since retiring from baseball, Kent has remained involved in the sport as a coach and broadcaster, and has also appeared on the reality television show Survivor.
