This lot features an absolutely stunning Harmon Killebrew 1967 Minnesota Twins road gray flannel jersey. The Spalding size 44 jersey shows solid consistent use throughout and is all original with no alterations of any kind. The "Killebrew" felt swatch is sewn into the collar. The following is chain stitched into the lower left front tail: "Killebrew 3 44 67" referring to Killebrew's jersey number, size and year. The Spalding manufacturers tag is sewn in along with the wash tag and "Set 1 1967" flag tag attached. Aesthetically appealing flannel with "TWINS" sewn on the front, Killebrew's number "3" sewn on the back and the Twins team logo sewn on the left sleeve. The 1967 season was a spectacular one for "Killer" as he won the AL HR Title with 44 HR's and finished 2nd in the AL MVP balloting. Harmon signed the jersey on the front in blue marker and added a "HOF '84" inscription. The jersey was signed during a charity event during the summer of 2010. When approached for his signature, he admired the jersey and gladly obliged. Killebrew jerseys are quickly drying up with demand far exceeding supply. Simply spectacular unimprovable Killebrew flannel from one of his greatest seasons ever. The jersey is accompanied by a very detailed Letter of Authenticity and direct photomatch showing Harmon Killebrew wearing this jersey for the game played on October 1st, 1967 in which Harmon went 2 for 2 with 2 walks and 2 runs scored on the final game of the season. The Twins and Red were tied atop the American League at 91-70 going into the game. Harmon did his part but the Twins fell 5-3 and the Red Sox went on to the World Series. Given the quality of use, this jersey was worn for MANY games throughout his 44 home run season in which he won his 5th of 6 Home Run Titles. Great jersey from the prime of Harmon's Hall of Fame career and one of the most important games in which he ever played.
